We offer Property Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Customer Service, Marketing and Technology Management for property owners on Ambergris Caye. Along with experience in all of those areas each core team member has lived a minimum of 14 years on the island with a combined total of 60+ years in the community.
Who Are We at Sunrise Property Management?
Amanda Syme, Owner
Amanda has lived in Belize since 1981, she has 30 + years of Belize Real Estate experience and has owned Sunrise Realty for 20 of those 30 years. She has raised family of 3 children and been actively involved in the community as a volunteer and a member of the South Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch and has been a key player in the San Pedro Business Association, served in committees with the San Pedro Town council and continues to serve as a Justice of the Peace and a Special Constable.
Amanda has an intimate knowledge of the vast majority of properties on the island, has business and personal relationships with many island residents and investment property owners and has also been involved in many developments of private homes as well as condo projects including establishing HOA’s with numerous developers and overseeing condominium projects from the initial concept to full operation. In short, when it comes to real estate on Ambergris Caye Amanda has seen and done it all.
Simon Backley, Owner
Simon has lived in Belize since 2000. Initially Simon lived in Indian Church at Lamanai Outpost Lodge where he helped establish Belize Expeditions and was responsible for providing custom itineraries for Virtuoso travel agents and clients. Simon’s background before arriving in Belize was 15 years of IT Management, Consulting and Business Process Management. When Simon arrived on Ambergris Caye he opened Lagniappe Provisioning, a new concept on the island at the time, the business quickly grew and the concept is now accepted as an essential service for tourists renting condominiums and villas. Simon was also involved in Yacht Charter Management for 10 years with TMM Yacht Charters, an occupation no different than Property Management other than buildings tend to stay put… TMM Yacht Charters was in dire straits when Simon and his co-manager were tasked with bringing the company back to the standards expected by the company owners, yacht owners and guests. By managing the business processes, meeting the owner and client expectations the company’s reputation and profitability were successfully restored and improved.
Elena Choc, General Manager
Elena was born in Orange Walk and has lived on Ambergris Caye since 2001. Elena joined Lagniappe Provisioning shortly after its inception and became a key member of the team, eventually moving up to General Manager before the sale of the company in 2008. Following that Elena moved on to Amigos Del Mar where she became Front Desk Manager and a driving force in pushing Amigos to new heights of profitability and customer service. Elena brings years of logistics, scheduling and customer service experience to our company.
