WHO ARE WE
In July of 2016, Amanda Syme and Simon Backley established Sunrise Property Management to address the increasing demand for a property management company on Ambergris Caye that was organized, technologically advanced, and trustworthy. Their aim was to increase revenues for rental owners, to offer timely and comprehensive reports, and to ensure transparent accounting practices. Sunrise Property Management successfully achieved those objectives, and today, they are servicing a growing number of property owners and HOAs with exceptional Property Management and Vacation Rental Services.
Simon Backley, Owner – Since 2000, Simon has made Belize his home, initially working with the owners of Lamanai Outpost Lodge to establish Belize Expeditions and craft personalized itineraries for Virtuoso travel agents and their clients. With 15 years of expertise in IT Management and Business Process Management, Simon brings a wealth of experience to the table. After moving to Ambergris Caye in 2003 he launched Lagniappe Provisioning, catering to tourists staying in condominiums and villas. After selling Lagniappe Provisioning, Simon spent a decade in Yacht Charter Management with TMM Yacht Charters. His background equips him with a unique perspective and a diverse skill set in business management, technology, and tourism.
Amanda Syme, Owner – Amanda is a real estate expert with over 35 years of experience in Belize, owning Sunrise Realty for 27 years. Amanda has raised a family, been a community volunteer, and played a significant role in the San Pedro Business Association and Town Council committees. She is a Justice of the Peace and a Special Constable. Amanda’s real estate experience includes intimate knowledge of the island’s properties, development of private homes and condo projects, establishment of HOAs, and overseeing condominium projects from concept to operation.
